Greenstep secures ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification to battle against rising security threat levels
Greenstep, a prominent provider of financial services, has secured a ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification in its pursuit for exceptional data security management. The certification marks a significant milestone in Greenstep’s commitment to data security and places the company to the forefront of data security in our industry, with us being among the first companies in the industry to get certified in this scale.
In a world ridden with more data security issues and emerging threats than ever, Greenstep has taken great strides towards a more secure future for our customers, employees, and other stakeholders alike. The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is a governance model that ensures the secure and responsible handling of data. At Greenstep the same management model is in use across all Greenstep Group Companies and services in all Greenstep countries.
The cybersecurity threat level is constantly on the rise across the globe. According to the Finnish National Cyber Security Centre’s “cyber weather” reports, the threat levels have risen to worrying or even serious status in all six different categories they study (data breaches and leaks, scams and phishing and espionage for example).
Greenstep sees data security and compliance as a top priority in the battle against cyber criminals. Stolen or leaked business data could be detrimental to the legitimacy of a company and can cause significant financial and / or reputational damage and outsourced service providers could be a target. The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is not just a testament to our commitment to data security, but it underscores our dedication to provide assurance to our employees and customers that their information is handled with utmost care and security. With this press release we strive to inspire others to do the same.
A certification of this scale was a genuine challenge, requiring thousands of hours from hundreds of people. Anne Kulla, Greenstep's Compliance Officer, reflects on the impact of this certification on the daily lives of the Greenstep community.
– We assessed security risks, identified controls, and introduced new practices into everyday routines. The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 management model provided valuable assurance, prompting the introduction of new routines and the construction of clear models for their management.
Greenstep recognizes that the pursuit of data security excellence is an ongoing journey. Our commitment involves continuous monitoring to maintain current security management levels and a pledge to progress further. Our passion lies not just in meeting industry standards but in being the benchmark for data security, setting new standards for the benefit of all.
