Greenstep and Ancorius partner to support fund managers’ international growth

The cooperation combines Nordic and Luxembourg back-office expertise, so fund managers can expand across borders without juggling separate providers in each jurisdiction.

Greenstep has signed a cooperation agreement with Ancorius, the Luxembourg-based financial services provider, to support fund managers as they grow internationally. Together, the two firms will provide back-office services across the Nordics and Luxembourg, from fund administration and accounting to investor reporting.

The partnership works in both directions. Greenstep clients expanding into Luxembourg gain a regulated local partner in Ancorius, while Ancorius clients gain access to Rundit, Greenstep’s portfolio management platform for venture capital and private equity fund managers.

One back office across the Nordics and Luxembourg

Fund managers running structures in several jurisdictions often work with a separate administrator, accountant and reporting tool in each one, while reporting demands keep growing under the revised AIFMD. The partnership brings this together in one offer, combining Nordic back-office services with regulated fund services in Luxembourg.

Greenstep brings the back office. Its team handles fund accounting, capital calls and distributions, investor reporting, regulatory reporting under AIFMD, SFDR and FATCA/CRS, valuations, KYC, ESG advisory and taxation. Greenstep works with more than 200 funds with over €10 billion in assets under administration.

Ancorius provides the Luxembourg presence within the partnership. Building on more than 30 years of history and a team of over 100 professionals, Ancorius operates under a regulated PSF fund administration licence and delivers a full range of fund administration, corporate services, accounting and tax solutions. It recently agreed to acquire Induna, a Luxembourg fund services provider specialising in vehicles for Scandinavian investors. These services are available both to Ancorius’ own clients and to Greenstep clients seeking to establish and manage Luxembourg fund or corporate structures.

Clients on both sides can also use Rundit, Greenstep’s portfolio management platform, to centralise portfolio data and automate LP reporting. Together, this gives fund managers one coordinated back office, from fund structure to investor report, across the Nordics and Luxembourg.

Supporting fund managers’ growth across borders

“Fund managers expanding beyond the Nordics tell us the hardest part is not the investment case, it is the operational load of a new jurisdiction. With Ancorius, our clients get a trusted, regulated local partner in Luxembourg, and one coordinated back office across both markets,” says Minna Riihimäki, Partner at Greenstep.

Ancorius Group CEO Johan van den Berg explains what the cooperation means for fund managers:

“We are delighted to partner with Greenstep and support their clients as they expand internationally. By combining Greenstep’s strong presence and expertise in the Nordic market with Ancorius’ regulated fund, corporate and governance services platform in Luxembourg, we can provide fund managers with a coordinated solution for cross-border growth and access to one of Europe’s leading fund jurisdictions.”

Greenstep’s Global Operations Lead Laura Sata-Leinonen explains how the agreement fits Greenstep’s international strategy:

“Our partners are central to our strategy, enabling us to combine global scale with local insight so we can serve our customers with greater impact and global scaling. With this new agreement, we are building on our strategic global partnership growth and adding a new pillar of our international cooperating in Fund management area.”
