Greenstep continues to support Ukraine by offering tools and resources for promising startups

Startup ecosystems in Finland, Baltics and Ukraine have embarked on a joint program which aims to support the rebuilding and defense of Ukraine as well as better future for youth already during the ongoing war.

Empowering Future Entrepreneurial Ukraine program aims to both scout potential innovations for the global market as well as enhance positive faith for the future amongst the youth in Ukraine in the situation where 4.3 million children have been displaced during the first month of the war, according to the United Nations. Innovations in critical areas are now needed more than ever in Ukraine, which has been suffering from brutal invasion.

Ukrainian Future business incubator is organizing a pitching competition for startups in May-June, targeted at promising startups with Ukrainian background seeking for innovations in the defense & cyber security, food & agriculture, infrastructure, energy as well as the health sector.

A mentorship program will be part of the competition where the best startups receive mentoring provided by experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders from Finland, Baltics and Ukraine. The winners of the pitching competition will get a grant of 10.000 euros sponsored by Greenstep. In addition many cooperation partners including Greenstep are offering their services pro bono, accelerating the growth of Ukrainian startups.

Vitaliy Lisovyi, CEO of Ukrainian Future Business Incubator, the party who kicked off the program, says that talented entrepreneurs get a unique opportunity to work with experienced Ukrainian and international mentors, enlarge their network, and get a rare chance to benefit from partners of high quality professional services.

“This program offers opportunities for startups to both stay in Ukraine contributing to defending and rebuilding of Ukraine as well as to integrate to the global startup ecosystem with access to global funding,” concludes Vitaliy Lisovyi.

Business Advisor of Ukrainian Future business incubator, Hannele Mennala explains that this program offers a concrete way to help Ukraine.

“Solutions, contacts and knowledge generated in this program can help forward rebuilding Ukraine, the program where Finland’s globally acclaimed education and entrepreneurial know-how should have a major role.
