Driving Wellbit's New Strategy Implementation Through IT Operations Development

Wellbit is building a more efficient future of work by developing AI-enabled solutions for data management and electronic archiving. When the company embarked on a large-scale strategic transformation, it needed a partner who understood both the technology and the business. Greenstep helped Wellbit to put its strategy into practice by developing existing processes and systems.
"We have worked with Greenstep for IT consulting. It can be difficult to identify our own mistakes and challenges from the inside, so we wanted an external expert to help us see the most critical areas for development. We had recently implemented a major strategy change, but we noticed that the change hadn't been put into practice or reflected in the underlying systems. Greenstep was there to ensure that our systems supported our strategic objectives on a practical level”, says Erkki-Jussi Welling, CEO of Wellbit.
Developing IT Operations Frees Up Resources and Boosts Productivity
According to Welling, the new strategy quickly revealed that the underlying systems did not meet the requirements of the change. Established processes were inflexible, and updating systems required a lot of manual work. Wellbit realised that a fundamental change in approach was needed - systems and processes had to serve the business, not hinder it.
"I knew that a system reform alone would not solve the problem completely. Working with Greenstep, we have gone deeper into our processes and started to develop them from a completely new basis. We have realized that it’s not worth managing all information in systems like financial management, which are by nature rigid and limited. The focus of our collaboration is now on how to automatically collect the data that matters to us and get it to the right people at the right time. Automation like this will make our operations much smoother and easier”, concludes Welling.

Fresh Perspectives Reveal Critical Development Needs
According to Welling, the collaboration with Greenstep exceeded expectations on many levels. In particular, he was impressed by the partner’s ability to quickly grasp the core of Wellbit’s business and its real needs. A common understanding was immediately established with Greenstep’s experts: space was given for open discussion and active listening, and solutions were genuinely built around Wellbit’s business requirements.
“I can warmly recommend Greenstep as a partner. Their interim CIO service, which focuses on concrete business challenges and helps find workable solutions, has worked very well for us. It’s often difficult to see your own problems clearly, which is why an outside perspective can be beneficial for everyone. Working with Greenstep’s experts has been really smooth — it’s felt like they genuinely care about us. In addition, their wide range of services gives us the opportunity to leverage their expertise in the future”, Welling sums up.
