Löfbergs is a Swedish coffee company that has been around for over 115 years. It was founded in 1906 by Anders Löfberg and his brothers John and Josef in Karlstad, Sweden. Over the past century, the small coffee roastery has grown and expanded internationally, yet its core values – a passion for great coffee and a commitment to quality – have remained unchanged.
This family-owned business is especially known for its dark roasted coffees, which have earned praise for their rich flavor and high quality. Löfbergs offers a wide range of coffee varieties, many of which are certified, meaning they meet specific sustainability and ethical standards.
Sustainability has been a central part of Löfbergs’ business from the very beginning. Over the years, the company has developed several environmentally friendly initiatives, including reducing the climate impact of its production by continuously increasing the share of renewable packaging materials. Löfbergs has also created the Next Generation Coffee program, which ensures that great coffee remains possible in the future – for coffee farmers, the environment, and consumers alike.
Growing in Finland with the a local HR partner
As part of its international growth, Löfbergs has expanded into several countries and is constantly working to strengthen its presence in new markets, such as Finland, where the business has grown significantly in recent years. To support its establishment in the Finnish market, Löfbergs selected Greenstep as its HR partner.
“Our need to have someone in place to handle HR was absolutely critical for us. After all, our people are our most important asset,” says Kent Pettersson, Managing Director & CCO Market East at Löfbergs.
Shared values, a focus on sustainability, and several other similarities between the companies influenced the choice of partner – and so far, the collaboration has been a great success.
“I think the partnership has worked fantastically well,” Kent concludes.
